Clinic Website Cost in the UK: Published Ranges and What Moves Them

Short answer

Published UK ranges put a freelance five-page brochure site at around £1,500 to £3,000, a professionally built business website at £3,000 to £6,000, and agency brochure sites at £3,000 to £12,000, or £8,000 to £25,000 from London agencies. Clinic sites often need more pages and more checking than a basic brochure site, so it is sensible to plan for the upper parts of those ranges.

Published price ranges

There is no official price list for websites, so the best guide is what agencies and freelancers publish. The ranges below come from three UK sources, each with its own definition of what is included. They are not quotes, and they are not clinic-specific unless the source says so.

Published UK website price ranges, 2026
SourceType of website as described by the sourcePublished range
Whito (aesthetic clinic guide)Five-page brochure site, freelancer£1,500 to £3,000
Whito (aesthetic clinic guide)Professionally built business website£3,000 to £6,000
LiloSmall business website: 5 to 10 pages, mobile responsive, content management system, basic SEO£1,500 to £5,000
LiloCustom business website, built around your brand rather than a template£5,000 to £15,000
KwibooBrochure website from UK agencies£3,000 to £12,000
KwibooBrochure-style work from London agencies£8,000 to £25,000

Sources: Whito's "Aesthetic Clinic Website Cost UK 2026", last updated 20 October 2026[1]; Lilo's "How Much Does Website Design Cost in the UK?", published 18 March 2026[2]; Kwiboo's "How Much Does a Website Cost in the UK? 2026", published 22 January 2026[3]. All three are commercial publishers that sell web design.

Whito also warns of hidden extras adding 30 to 50 per cent on top of a quote[1]. That is a useful reminder to check what a quote leaves out.

Ongoing costs

Published ongoing website costs
SourceItemPublished cost
WhitoSelf-hosted WordPress, running costs after introductory pricing£130 to £160 a year
LiloDomain name£10 to £20 a year
LiloWebsite hosting£20 to £100 a month
LiloWebsite maintenance£50 to £300 a month
KwibooBasic maintenance: updates and backupsFrom £25 to £50 a month
KwibooSecurity monitoring, content updates and performance work£100 to £500 a month

The gap between Whito's hosting figure and Lilo's reflects different products. Basic shared hosting for a self-managed WordPress site is cheap. Managed hosting with backups, monitoring and support costs more. Ask exactly what a hosting or maintenance fee covers before comparing.

Why clinic sites tend to cost more than a basic brochure site

A clinic website looks like a brochure site but usually carries more work. These are the items that move a clinic quote:

  • Number of treatment pages. A brochure site might have five pages. A clinic with a dozen treatments needs a page for each, and each needs writing and clinical review.
  • Copywriting. Writing treatment pages that are accurate, plain and within the advertising rules takes time. Supplying finished copy yourself lowers cost, because writing and reviewing treatment pages is a substantial part of the work on a clinic site.
  • Claims checking. Reading every page against section 12 of the CAP Code and, for aesthetic clinics, the rules on prescription-only medicines adds review time.
  • Clinician profiles. Gathering details, register links and photos for each clinician.
  • Integrations. Connecting to a booking platform or practice management system, and testing it.
  • Multiple locations. Location pages, per-site details and, in England, per-site CQC ratings.
  • Accessibility testing. Testing with a keyboard, screen reader and zoom, not just an automated scan.
  • Migration. Moving content from an old site and mapping redirects so existing search visibility is not lost.

Where clinics can save

  • Use an established booking platform rather than commissioning custom booking software.
  • Write first drafts of treatment pages yourself, using a clear template, and pay for editing rather than writing from scratch.
  • Start with your main treatments and add pages for less common services later.
  • Supply your own photography of the premises and team.
  • Keep the design simple. Animation and complex layouts add cost without helping patients.

Questions to ask any designer

  1. How many pages are included, and what does an extra page cost?
  2. Who writes the copy, and how many rounds of changes are included?
  3. Do you check health claims against the CAP Code?
  4. How will the site display our CQC rating, if we have one?
  5. What does the appointment form collect, and where do submissions go?
  6. Is accessibility tested with real assistive technology?
  7. Who owns the site, the domain and the content when the project ends?
  8. What do hosting and maintenance include, and can we leave at any time?

Our own approach to scoping and quoting is set out on the pricing page.

Budgeting for the first year

The build is only part of the first year's cost. Using the published ongoing figures above, the yearly running costs work out as follows:

  • Hosting at Lilo's £20 to £100 a month comes to £240 to £1,200 a year[2].
  • Maintenance at Lilo's £50 to £300 a month comes to £600 to £3,600 a year[2].
  • Kwiboo's basic maintenance, from £25 to £50 a month, comes to £300 to £600 a year[3].
  • A domain name adds £10 to £20 a year[2].

A clinic that maintains its own site on low-cost hosting sits at the bottom of those ranges. A clinic that pays for managed hosting, monitoring and regular content changes sits higher. Neither is right for everyone; the question is who in your team will keep fees, profiles and opening hours up to date, and whether paying someone else to do it is cheaper than the staff time.

Builders, templates and subscriptions

There are three broad ways to pay for a clinic website. A website builder subscription keeps upfront cost low, but the content, structure and claims checking are still your work. A one-off build from a freelancer or agency puts the cost upfront and leaves you owning the site. Some agencies offer monthly subscriptions that combine the build and ongoing care in one fee. Before signing a subscription, check what happens at the end of the term: whether you keep the site and the content, and what it costs to leave.

Hidden extras to ask about

Whito's warning that extras can add 30 to 50 per cent to a quote[1] is a reminder to ask what is excluded before you compare prices. Items that are easy to leave out of a quote include:

  • Writing the treatment pages, as opposed to placing copy you supply.
  • Extra rounds of changes after the agreed number.
  • Stock or commissioned photography.
  • Premium plugins or platform subscriptions the build depends on.
  • Setting up or migrating email and domains.
  • Redirects from an old site.
  • Accessibility testing beyond an automated scan.
  • Training your team to edit the site.

Questions clinics ask

Is a template site from a website builder good enough for a clinic?

It can be a reasonable start for a very small practice with a few services, especially if you write the content carefully. It becomes limiting when you need many treatment pages, several locations or integrations with clinical systems.

Why do London agencies charge more?

Kwiboo's published ranges are higher for London agencies than for UK agencies generally. Website projects can be run remotely, so it is worth comparing quotes from outside London as well.

Should hosting be included in the website price?

Hosting is an ongoing cost, so it is usually quoted separately. Make sure you know the monthly or yearly cost and what it includes before you sign.
